The soldier Oleksandr received a bionic prosthetic arm

The “Techiia Foundation" covered the installation costs of a bionic arm for the soldier Oleksandr. It contains electrodes and a battery built into the socket, and, thanks to the terminal device, responds to muscle signals, making the palm of the hand functional. The cost of the prosthesis is UAH 480,600.

Oleksandr became one of the first Ukrainians to defend the country since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Initially, he joined volunteer groups that patrolled the streets, guarded enterprises, and neutralized enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups (DRG). Later, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In the first months of his service, he served in Bakhmut, and half a year later, he was stationed in Derhachi in the Kharkiv region.

Oleksandr was wounded on one of the war fronts.

"After the explosion, I asked my comrades to end my life – I didn't want to be a burden and endanger them during my transportation to the field hospital," recalls the man of the horrifying moment. But his comrades did not abandon Oleksandr – already in the hospital, doctors found that both upper and lower limbs were damaged. Several medical operations were performed, and it became clear that there would be a long process of treatment and recovery ahead. Oleksandr's relatives contacted the "Techiia Foundation" NGO, and the organization fully covered the expenses for the installation of a modern prosthetic arm. Currently, the man is adapting to the prosthesis and adjusting to the new realities of life.

Overall, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the "Techiia Foundation" has facilitated the prosthetization of more than one defender of Ukraine and continues to help. In the fall of 2023, a military serviceman with the callsign "Grek" received a new arm, in August 2023, modern bionic arm prostheses were received by Viktor and Serhiy – soldiers who fought against the occupiers in the hottest spots on the front line. And in April 2023, as part of the "Nestrymni" project, the “Techiia Foundation" financed a modern lower limb prosthesis for Maksym Ivanchenko, a career officer of the AFU, who was seconded to a separate tank company from the Lviv region.
