The NGO Techiia Foundation provides financial support for the shelter for temporarily displaced persons in Chernivtsi
The Foundation has already transferred UAH 1.56 million, which will provide three months of shelter’s functioning.
The shelter is free temporary housing for Ukrainians who were forced to leave their homes due to the war waged by russia. One of these shelters was created by the "Committee For Public Rescue Of Ukraine" charity fund in the city of Chernivtsi in the western part of Ukraine.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation of Ukraine, more than 3,000 displaced persons from Kharkiv, Mariupil’, Kramatorsk, and other hot spots of the country have received temporary housing here. Today, more than 120 people live here, and more than 30 of them are children.
"We restore industrial premises in the city and turn them into living sites, providing sleeping places, kitchens, food, bathrooms. We do our best to make people feel comfortable and safe. And we also help our temporary residents to integrate into the life of the region," explains Anton Aleksa, the Director of the "Committee For Public Rescue Of Ukraine"
The NGO Techiia Foundation transferred UAH 1.56 million to the needs of the shelter - these funds will support the operation of the shelter for three months. We are talking about the maintenance of the facility itself, which includes rent, utilities, waste collection, as well as the support of its residents.
It is worth mentioning that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the russian federation, the Techiia Foundation has purchased and handed over $21 million (622 million UAH) worth of humanitarian aid to the defenders of Ukraine: these are armored protective gear, reconnaissance equipment, optics, tactical clothing, equipment, etc.
