Ukrainian soldier Artem received a bionic prosthetic arm
Despite his injury, Artem never lost his spirit. His story is one of resilience, self-belief, and determination to keep moving forward.

On February 24, 2022, Artem was with his family in the Kyiv region. He was only 18 years old at the time. In the first months of the full-scale invasion, he volunteered to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. By 2023, he decided to join the army himself.
Artem served in the “Clear Eyes” unit of the 23rd Brigade, specializing in unmanned aerial systems, and spent nearly six months on the Pokrovsk front line. During a retreat from positions, he came under heavy artillery fire. A shell exploded nearby, causing severe injuries and the amputation of his arm.
After multiple surgeries and treatment, Artem underwent rehabilitation and turned to us for support in receiving a modern bionic prosthesis. With the help of our foundation, it was ordered and manufactured in just one week. At first, using the prosthesis was difficult — he had to retrain his muscles to control it — but step by step, he learned to perform everyday tasks again: using his phone, zipping up a jacket, holding items while driving.
“Having a prosthesis is work. But every day it opens new opportunities. The main thing is not to give up and to keep working on yourself,” Artem says.

Despite his injury, he dreams of continuing his service and working with unmanned systems. To other soldiers preparing for prosthetics, he advises: “Don’t lose heart, listen to your doctors, train every day — and progress will definitely come.”
The Techiia Foundation has already implemented dozens of prosthetics projects and supported the recovery of wounded soldiers. Artem’s story once again proves that even after the most severe losses, it is possible to return to an active life — thanks to modern technology, the support of loved ones, and the help of benefactors.
