Restoration of the Children’s hospital after a missile strike

In September 2025, we responded to an urgent call for assistance from Andriy Derkach, Deputy Medical Director for Pediatric Infectious Pathology of the Kyiv Municipal Children’s Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital, and launched the restoration of the hospital, which sustained damage from debris during a missile strike on the capital.

As a result of the attack, the roofs of three buildings were damaged, 48 windows were shattered, and wards and isolation units were affected. The hospital, which treats young patients with various infectious diseases every day, required immediate support to restore its full operations before the onset of rains and frost.

“Techiia Foundation was the first to respond to our request. I am deeply grateful to the entire team for stepping in to help. The project involves a full restoration of the building’s integrity. As an additional contribution, we also received several months’ worth of medicines to cover our urgent needs,” said Andriy Derkach.

According to him, this support is critically important, as the hospital must operate without interruption, especially during the autumn and winter seasons, when the incidence of infectious diseases among children significantly increases.

“With this assistance, we are confident that we will be able to fully restore the hospital’s operations and continue to provide young patients with safe and high-quality medical care,” emphasized Andriy Derkach.
