Oleg Krot is transforming NDUU into a military educational hub

In June 2024, our President, Oleh Krot, publicly announced his commitment to support the National Defense University of Ukraine, one of the country’s leading military educational institutions that trains true professionals. Within a year, these intentions have been turned into concrete actions.

What makes this support especially valuable is Oleh Krot’s clear understanding that by investing in the university, he is directly contributing to the quality of officer training — officers who will soon be leading their units on the front lines. This is strategic-level support, critically important in the context of modern warfare. Investing in the knowledge and skills of Ukraine’s defenders means investing in the future strength and resilience of our Armed Forces.

Major Pavlo Netyosov, a researcher at the university’s Scientific Department for the Study of Military History and Art, explains: “The philanthropist’s contribution is tangible in every corner of our institution. Thanks to the funds provided by Techiia Foundation, led by Oleh Krot, new classrooms have been created in previously served as shelters and storage spaces. These basement areas, once cleared of debris, mold, and mildew by military personnel, have now been transformed into fully equipped educational spaces where classes are actively held today.”

The museum facilities have also been significantly upgraded. New workstations have been installed for the museum staff, along with modern showcases, projectors, and exhibition equipment. The museum has become a contemporary, interactive space open to visitors, not just a display of artifacts but a place of power that preserves memory and shapes identity.

A special feature is the collection of combat flags bearing signatures, stories, and memories of comrades-in-arms. These are not just exhibits; they embody the fighting spirit, historical continuity, and collective memory for military personnel visiting from across the country.

The internal operations have also changed. Thanks to Oleh Krot, the space has become modern, interactive, and attractive to visitors. While previously the museum was visited by around 700–800 people per month, it now welcomes that many in a single work week — a shared achievement made possible by dedicated teamwork and leadership. “Now we have a large auditorium where we can host delegations and events, and museum staff have dedicated rooms,” adds Netyosov.

In 2024, we announced the allocation of over UAH 10 million for the university's development. The first stage involved an initial UAH 1 million investment for the start of renovations and procurement of basic equipment. The goal is not just repairs, but the creation of a comprehensive, modern infrastructure for officers, sergeants, continuing education participants, and international exchange programs.

Within a year, the number of graduates nearly doubled — from 600 in 2023 to 1,100 in 2024. Now, our military personnel are studying in fully equipped, modern conditions. International partners visiting the university for knowledge exchange witness a high-standard institution that reflects excellence. This is no coincidence — it is the result of strategic support, deliberate decisions, and strong belief in the future!
