Air purification system for the operating room of a children's hospice

For over a year now, we have been providing monthly support to the “City of Goodness” center in Chernivtsi and its children’s hospice, the “Butterfly House,” where more than 60 children with severe and incurable conditions currently live and receive care. Some of them cannot be transported to hospitals, which makes the ability to perform complex surgeries directly at the center their only chance at life.

When the center’s team approached us with a request to help launch an additional operating room, only one critical element was missing — an air purification and disinfection system.

For children with critically weakened immune systems, air quality during surgery is of vital importance. Even minimal microbial contamination can pose a serious threat to their lives, which is why implementing modern respiratory safety solutions is essential.

We were able to install a state-of-the-art system that ensures air purification and quality control in the operating room — completing the final crucial piece of the puzzle.

This project is an example of how support does not always have to be large to be meaningful. Sometimes, a single missing element separates a complex yet life-saving process from the possibility of its implementation.

Thanks to joint efforts, the hospice operating room has become fully functional, giving children an additional chance to receive the treatment they need.

Watch the video to see how the operating room works and why it is often these “small” solutions that lead to significant change.
