1,300 tons of anti-drone nets to protect our soldiers
Hundreds of tons of fishing nets have been delivered to meet the needs of the Ukrainian army as part of the "Spiderweb" project, implemented in partnership with the NGO "Union of TV and Film Industry Entrepreneurs" and the Charitable Foundation "Volunteer Battalion." Nets on the front line have become a critically important resource, as the enemy constantly upgrades its drones and conducts precise and intensive attacks.
These nets have found a second life on the battlefield, serving as anti-drone protection: they are used to build tunnels, camouflage equipment, and shelters, and create "lifelines" for the safe movement of personnel and cargo. The value and necessity of these nets are best demonstrated by the experiences of the soldiers on the front line.
"Today, these nets are one of the most vital components of our defensive infrastructure. We reinforce tunnels, protect firing positions, and fortify shelters. The enemy observes from above, and these nets make us invisible. They don’t just help — they save lives," said Denys, call sign "Komers," Deputy Commander of Artillery of the Azov Brigade.
This project is a clear example of how well-coordinated efforts, with a clear purpose, a dedicated team, and consistent action, can deliver tangible results.
The "Spiderweb" project has been ongoing for over a year and continues to expand — net by net, truck by truck, life by life. To date, more than one million tons of nets — specifically 67 truckloads or 1,300 tons — have been delivered to the front line, where they help protect equipment, dugouts, shelters, and positions from reconnaissance and kamikaze drones.
"We are not fighting with weapons — we are fighting with resources. Every net, every bed, every fire extinguisher that reaches our soldiers is not simply humanitarian aid; it is an element of our defense. We must strengthen the army with everything within our power. The ‘Web’ project is about systematic support that saves lives every day," emphasized Oleg Krot.
